In my role as a pastor, people often ask me what advice I would give to a Christian who is struggling with porn addiction. This is one of those things with no simple solution, but I do have a few words of advice, borne out of personal experience, which I hope will go some way to helping anyone battling this issue.

Stop watching porn. God spoke that message to my heart and to tell Christians. This post is for Christians and no one else. The root cause of porn addiction is uncontrolled lust which leads to spiritual death and isolation from your Creator. God hurts and the Holy Spirit grieves when you turn on to porn. What he designed for good and it is good — SEX — satan destroys. Porn defiles the marriage bed.

Porn is one of the most destructive things in the world. Pornography addictions literately destroy everything. It pollutes the eye, it destroys the mind, it changes your personality, it weakens the soul, it destroys marriages, it hurts your relationship with others, it destroys sex, and this addiction can destroy your desires for a real relationship with the opposite sex. Porn kills you spiritually, mentally, and physically. It is extremely toxic.
